Description

Fadmoor is a most attractive village found just a few miles North East of Kirkbymoorside; within the North York Moors National Park. It is surrounded by rolling fields and picturesque scenery and has a well kept village green to its heart with a mixture of old and new properties surrounding it. The village has a popular pub but relies on its everyday services and amenities at Kirkbymoorside.

Little Owl is a detached stone built house found on the very edge of the village. It has a southerly aspect and faces the village green. Although the property may benefit from some modernising it can still offer light and airy accommodation, with two reception rooms to the front of the house, a kitchen with pantry and a separate utility room. There are three double bedrooms to the first floor with house bathroom.

Outside Little Owl can boast an impressive array of stone outbuildings, stabling and garaging. These run behind the house and continue in an easterly block finally adjoining the grazing. This land surrounds the stabling to its rear and is well fenced having mains water to the majority of the paddocks. In total the property is sited on an area of approximately 4 acres.

By separate negotiation an additional paddock of just over 1 acre is also available in the neighbouring village of Gillamoor.

Connected to the garage are two loose boxes (15’5” x 8’0”), (17’1” x 14’10”) that front the largest of the five paddocks. Behind this range of buildings is a useful open fronted cart shed (42’11” x 16’6”). A five bar gate swings from here allowing vehicular access to the remaining paddocks beyond. These paddocks are wire fenced and have water running to most of them. To the western boundary there is a brick and stone field shelter. On the other side of this entry gateway is a another range of six stables/looseboxes ranging in size from 16’2” x 10’1” to 10’7” x 6’9”. The majority have been re-roofed and all have attractive wooden split stable doors. These front an area of grass with some specimen trees planted and some stone steps upto what might be deemed as Litte Owl’s rear garden. With an easterly aspect a further two storey building divides into a hayloft (15’0” x 12’7”) and four sheep stalls (21’6” x 14’8”). A lawned garden runs around the house on its eastern side, bound by dry stone walls and herbaceous borders. To the western side of little Owls is a kitchen garden with fruit trees and vegetables.
