Description

Lockton is a quiet, picturesque moorland village situated off the A169 Pickering to Whitby Road. It is still very much a working village with active farms driving dairy cattle through some of the streets and the air resounding with the bleating of sheep. The village is surrounded by open fields and moorland scenery and is made up of predominantly stone built cottages and farmhouses.

Greystone House comprises a double fronted property located in the middle of the village which, in recent years has utilised its attached outbuildings, converting them into useful and very flexible accommodation. The eastern side of the house lends itself to being independent living for an elderly relative or alternatively there may an opportunity to create an additional income by way of holiday letting or Bed & Breakfast.

There is currently a spacious entrance hall, a front sitting room with open fire and a well serviced fitted kitchen. The kitchen links to both a conservatory overlooking some of the rear garden and a dining room. An inner hall has steps up to an office or occasional bedroom and steps down to a ground floor bedroom and adjacent shower room. From here there is access to the garage, a snug and also a utility room. All three can accessed from outside. The first floor of the main house is given up to three bedrooms and a recently fitted bathroom.

There is garden to the rear by way of a formal lawn and patio immediately beyond the house and a grass path weaves through some mature trees to another larger garden down to lawn, fruit trees and a very productive vegetable plot.
